POLICE have said there has been a drop in reports of anti-social behaviour in Upton after stepping up their patrols.
As reported in the Daily Echo, police vowed to take action after members of the public reported feeling intimidated by gangs of young people.
Police said their enhanced presence last weekend had been “well received”.
A spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: “Street corner meetings held in the evenings, gave us the opportunity to speak to residents and provide reassurance.
“Local young people were spoken to who positively engaged with Police. The action has resulted in a decline in reports of anti-social behaviour.”
Police will be carrying out patrols again this weekend with Purbeck Police assisted by colleagues from across the Force.
