A BODY found in the water at Poole Quay earlier this month was a man in his 50s, police have confirmed.
Next of kin have now been identified following the death of the man, who had no fixed abode.
Police were called to the quayside on the afternoon of Friday, April 6. The area was cordoned off from the public while the body was recovered and removed from the area.
Paramedics were called to the scene at 3pm and confirmed the man was deceased.
The coroner was also informed.
Residents at Poole Quay said there was a multi-agency response from the emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance.
The coastguard were also in attendance supporting police along with Poole RNLI.
