This is the second instalment of postcards from the collection of Marion Snow, of Burton Bradstock.

The collection was put together by her father Reginald Walter Ruff, who began to collect postcards in an album that is now over 100 years old. It was started in 1905 when he was five years old. Many of the postcards are written on and people have sent them to Mr Ruff.

The album contains snapshots of Reg’s life including his infant school at Sutton Waldron; Londonderry where he was briefly posted during the First World War and even a Dorsetshire Regiment Card, sent home at Christmas.

Marion’s parents met when her mother was in service. Reg Ruff died in 1959 at the age of 59.

We are always keen to hear from readers who have old mementoes they have filed away.
