PEOPLE will be able to get free entry to Bestival this summer by taking to their bikes.

Bike to Bestival will be making a return as part of Bestival which takes place at the Lulworth Estate between August 2 and 5.

The Bournemouth to Bestival ride will be making a comeback but this year there’s a new event taking place for pro-riders.

The new Bristol to Bestival ride will take place across two-days and is open to advanced riders only.

It will begin on August 1 with a stopover at a campsite en-route and will arrive at the festival on August 2.

Run in conjunction with Velo Domestique, the 25-mile Bournemouth Bike to Bestival ride will set off on August 2.

Riders of any ability can join this 25-mile ride but must have a roadworthy bicycle to take part.

Skilled marshals will accompany riders during both rides.

Participants will receive free entry to the festival, a Bike to Bestival t-shirt and reserved camping.

Bestival organiser, Rob da Bank, said: “Our Bournemouth ride is properly established now and with the addition of a pro-rider Bristol leg, both raising money for two brilliant charities, there’s plenty of opportunity for all you adventurous Bestival types.”

The Bournemouth ride will raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), while the Bristol event will raise funds for The Bristol Bike Project.

Simon Gunning, CEO of CALM, said: "CALM has always worked closely with the music and festival community, so we’re delighted to partner with Bestival this year, especially on the Bike to Bestival ride.”

Participants for each ride will be required to pay a £50 administration fee and raise a minimum of £200 for Bestival’s chosen charities.

Registration closes on April 25 and successful applicants will be notified by May 1. To sign up visit bestival.net.
