PLATINUM selling artist Example has been announced as the headline performer at this year's Bournemouth 7s Festival.

The two-day event is the largest sport and music festival in the world and takes place at Chapel Gate, East Parley, over the bank holiday weekend of May 26 and 27.

Bournemouth 7s Festival is famed for the unique manner in which it combines sport, music and a festival atmosphere, with more than 30,000 visitors and almost 400 sports teams taking part each year. In addition, the 12 themed festival arenas welcome more than 40 live acts and DJs.

This year’s event will see the introduction of two brand new sports, with Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball being added to the schedule to join the regular rugby, netball, hockey and dodgeball competitions.

Complimenting the smorgasbord of sport, Bournemouth 7s will also be adding two new arenas for the 2018 festival, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

The new arenas will join the already established array of dance tents, bars, cocktail gardens and entertainment stalls found at the event.

Alongside Example, Artful Dodger will be returning for their second consecutive year and proudly boast the title of being Bournemouth 7s Festival’s first ever Friday Night Player’s Party Headline Act.

The event also welcomes a host of talented, and mostly locally-based, musicians including DJs, bands and solo performers for its 11th year.
