A DOGGY dash will take place at Moors Valley to raise money for Cancer Research UK on April 29.

Dog owners will take their pets on a five kilometre walk around the country park, with those raising more than £100 getting a goody bag.

It starts at 9.30am, with registration from 9am.

Moors Valley have agreed to reduce parking fees to £1 until 11am.

Charlie Hawker, fundraising manager at Cancer Research UK, said: “We know Dorset is an extremely dog-friendly county, and this event gives plenty of canine owners the opportunity to raise funds for us on behalf of their pet.

“Fundraising is integral to the work we do. Monies donated by our wonderful volunteers go towards ground-breaking initiatives such as the Centre for Cancer Immunology in Southampton.

“We’d urge as many dog owners as possible to take part on the day – it’s a great way to have fun with other dog owners, exercise your dogs and contribute to a great cause.

"We have a number of fantastic dog-related raffle prizes up for grabs on the day and anyone who raises more than £100 will receive a goody bag."
