A WOMAN has released CCTV images after her mountain bike was stolen in Charminster.

Zdenka Piackova, 31, who is a warehouse manager, had her bike stolen from a garage at her home in St Leonard's Road.

The break-in happened at 6.10pm on April 6.

She said the thieves attempted to steal a motorbike before making off with her mountain bike.

Zdenka bought the white Kona mountain bike second hand for £300, which she used during visits to the Lake District and Moors Valley Country Park.

She said: “It has more sentimental value.”

CCTV cameras were installed at Zdenka’s home following an attempted burglary last September.

She said: “I contacted police within an hour and they said they would come round but we’re not a priority and it’s now four days on and I feel like we’re wasting time.”

She added: “You spend all your time at work and some people who don’t have jobs just come and steal from you.”

Dorset Police confirmed the theft had taken place.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 7.11pm on Friday 6 April 2018 to reports of a theft from a garage at an address in St Leonard's Road in Bournemouth.

“It is possible the garage had been left unsecure.”

"A white or cream small framed Kona mountain bike was stolen. It is understood the theft occurred around 6.05pm that day.

"Officers have spoken to the victim and advised them to ensure their garage is secured to prevent them becoming a further victim of crime. Crime prevention advice can be found at dorset.police.uk.

"An investigation is underway. No arrests have been made."
