CHRISTCHURCH choral music lovers can catch an early flavour of next summer's performance by Papagena, who have been asked to sing on Radio 3 to mark International Women's Day.
The all-female group, which performs unaccompanied choral music from the past six centuries, will be on Radio 3 at 1pm on March 8.
Tickets for the evening concerts in this year’s Music Festival are on sale from March 1, either at the Priory Box Office or Regent Centre.
Among the highlights of this year's event is the Band of the Royal Marines - regarded as one of the greatest military bands in the world - who will be playing on Wednesday June 13.
Organisers hope the experience will be even better for concert-goers this year, following their decision to invest in a state-of-the-art HD TV system so that visitors in the aisles and transepts will not only be able to hear but see, as well.
The festival takes place from June 9-16.
