A GIN bar in Westbourne has been granted permission to operate as a bar.
Ginjams has been operating for several months in the café use class of its former shop unit at 19 Seamoor Road.
The previous occupant was a deli café.
A report from council officers granting approval states: "There is still a relatively strong A1 retail element in the Westbourne area
"Retail areas everywhere are under pressure at the moment due to changing shopping habits, but it appears that with a high number of retail units and a generally low level of vacancies that Westbourne appears to have a relatively healthy shopping core, and the flexibility to offer a further range of different uses and services is not considered to be detrimental to the retail character of this area."
Ginjams owners Tom James and Chris Myland told the Echo last year that setting up the bar had been "a dream come true".
The business stocks around 75 different gins, including locally-produced favourites such as Conker, Pothecary and Lilliput Gin.
