With so much confusion from Southbourne residents as to whether Tuckton bridge is being completely closed over Easter, I phoned the designated number for clarity and was told that there is going to be complete closure, not just over the Easter period but for two weeks!

What on earth are the planners thinking about? Have they no regard for the number of cars - 30,000 a day, who are going to have to use Iford roundabout, which is already a bottleneck! Worse still there will be no temporary traffic lights at Iford roundabout to control the queues down Pokesdown hill or out of Iford lane. How on earth are the public ever going to get to work on time if they work in Christchurch or beyond , or to keep hospital appointments?

The practicalities of all this upheaval have definitely not been thought through - I would imagine that whoever came up with this scheme lives far away from either Tuckton or Iford Roundabouts!

What a shame that in the letter we received, 'temporary traffic lights ' was even mentioned.

Why was it not made crystal clear in your letter that there would be a complete closure for 2 weeks? Holidaymakers stay away from Bournemouth please and give we locals the opportunity to sit in traffic jams for the next two weeks.

Please, whoever is making all the decisions, at least put in temporary traffic lights at Iford roundabout so that we all get the same opportunity of getting to our destinations.
