A MAN has been charged with a driving offence after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Christchurch.
The casualty was crossing Barrack Road shortly after 3pm on Thursday, August 17 when he was involved in a collision with a silver BMW 5 Series, which was travelling from the Fountain roundabout towards Bournemouth.
The pedestrian, a local man in his 50s, suffered a serious head injury and a fractured pelvis and was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
A 50-year-old man from Christchurch has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 27 for an offence of driving without due care and attention.
