A MAN has appeared before magistrates accused of killing a dancer and model at Bestival.

Ceon Broughton, 29, is accused of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Louella Fletcher-Michie at the Lulworth Castle festival last September.

The 25-year-old died after taking an overdose of ecstasy and ketamine at the event.

Her body was found in a secluded wooded area of the festival site.

Last month, an inquest that opened into her death heard she endured a period of agitation as a result of taking the drugs before her airways became blocked.

Broughton, from Enfield, north London, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court today wearing black jeans, white trainers, a white cable knit jumper and black puffer jacket.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address and described himself as black British nationality.

The court heard that the charge is that on September 12 last year he unlawfully killed Louella Fletcher-Michie at Lulworth.

The clerk told the magistrates that the charge was an indictable only offence and the case would be sent straight to a crown court.

Broughton's case was adjourned by the magistrates and he will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on April 20.

He was released on bail.
