A DOG has lost an eye after being struck by a ball bearing fired from a catapult in Fordingbridge on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred in Stuckton Road between 9am and 10am.
Police are looking to track down a white Ford Transit flatbed with black sides.
Members of the neighbourhood police team tweeted asking for witnesses to anything suspicious at the time of the incident to come forward.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We received a report of a dog being struck in the eye by a ball bearing fired from a catapult in Stuckton Road between 9am and 10am on Wednesday March 14. The dog lost the eye.
“We are keen to trace a white Ford Transit flatbed with black sides. It was reported to have had an item of garden machinery on the back.”
Anyone who saw vehicles or people acting suspiciously is asked to contact police quoting reference number 44180096368.
