Police continuing to search for missing Swanage man Gerald Turner have released a new photo of him.

The 67-year-old was reported missing at 11.30am on Sunday, having last been seen at his home address in Church Hill at around 3am.

Dorset Police has been supported by HM Coastguard, DorSAR (Dorset Search and Rescue), Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and Wessex 4x4.

Searches have been carried out a number of locations in Swanage and along the local coastline, with nearly 30 coastguards from across Dorset helping police in the search for Gerald.

Teams were combing the Purbeck area on Tuesday, including Townsend Nature Reserve and Holborn Park. A large search was then carried out from Anvil Point to Dancing Ledge.

Following enquiries by local officers, CCTV footage has been obtained showing a man walking across High Street in Swanage towards Priests Road at around 6.30am.

It is believed the man in the footage is Gerald.

Officers have released a new photo of Gerald on Wednesday (March, 7), in the hope that it might jog someone's memory.

Dorset Police have also urged people to continue to check their own CCTV footage for sightings of him.

Mr Turner is described as around five feet seven inches tall and of slim build with short, thick, dark hair and a greying goatie beard and moustache.

It is believed he was wearing a black waterproof jacket, blue cotton tracksuit type trousers and green wellies.

Mr Turner is known to become confused easily and has been upset recently so police are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

A spokesperson for the Swanage Coastguard Rescue Team said: "The Swanage team would like to thank our colleagues from teams from West Bay to Poole in providing support to us.

"A special thanks also goes to the community in supporting us, especially Jewsons Swanage and the staff of Wide Horizons Townsend Road who not only allowed parking but then provided the searchers with food.

"The coastguard have now carried out searches from Ballard to Seacombe and will continue to support Dorset Police as requested."

Chief Inspector Bryan Duffy, of Dorset Police, said: "We have been continuing to liaise and update Gerald's family this week.

"Following further enquiries we have obtained a new photo of him which is more recent.

"I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen Gerald to please contact police.

"Officers are continuing to carry out extensive searches around the Swanage area and we are grateful to all our partner agencies and volunteer organisations that have been supporting us.

"Our thoughts continue to be with Gerald's family at what must be a very difficult time for them.

"I am also appealing directly to Gerald if you see this message to contact us or your family as we all want to ensure that you are safe and well."
