FASHION retail giant New Look has opened its new store in Poole's Dolphin Shopping Centre

The company has moved from its temporary location in the mall and is now situated opposite Marks & Spencer, having merged two shop units into one.

Now the store - which stocks womenswear, teen fashion, shoes and bags - covers two floors.

It is the latest addition to the town's indoor shopping centre, with other big name retailers rumoured to be moving in later in the year.

Dolphin Shopping Centre retail liaison manager Lisa King said: "There was a real buzz when the manager cut the ribbon and the newly positioned New Look was declared officially open.

"We are confident the store is going to be a huge draw for local residents and visitors alike. The Poole store benefits from a simple, customer-friendly layout, with all the stock available on the shop floor.

"It is a really exciting year for the shopping centre, as there are several other openings planned."

The official launch took place on Thursday (March 1)with a range of in-store promotions throughout the day, including a free gift to the first 25 customers that made a purchase.

Legal & General reached an agreement with the Borough of Poole last year to restructure the existing lease arrangements, to 'unlock a £26 million programme of investment'.

These funds will help bankroll an internal mall refresh, improvements to the open air Falkland Square and Kingland Crescent areas - including work to the shop facades - and the redevelopment of the former Argos building into a nine-screen Empire cinema with four restaurants.

Dolphin Shopping Centre manager John Grinnell said: "Having top brands at the Dolphin like New Look is really important to secure the centre's position as a significant attraction on the south coast for tourists and residents alike.

"Combined with the improvement works, we are determined to significantly improve the facilities to appeal to all our customers."
