A man has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision this morning.

The A353 was closed both ways and there was queuing traffic in the area between Mills Road and the A352 / B3390 (Warmwell Cross).

The road has now reopened.

Police confirmed the road was closed by Powell corner with both police and ambulance at the scene this morning.

Speaking earlier, a spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We got a call at 8.52am today, Friday, February 23 2018, reporting a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A353 at Poxwell.

"Officers are currently at the scene, along with the ambulance service.

"Road closures are being put in place to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident and for the vehicles to be recovered."

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said one man has been taken to Dorset County Hospital with minor injuries.

South Western Ambulance attended with one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.
