A SHOP in Bournemouth town centre could be converted into a new gym.
Bournemouth Functional Ltd, which trades as 9ROUND, wants permission to change the use of the shop, located at 4 Albert Road, into a gym.
The unit was previously used as a branch of sporting goods chain, Sweatshop, which was popular amongst professional runners and closed in the middle of September last year. The proposed floor plans show a reception area and nine workout stations plus lockers, showers, toilets and a staff area.
There would be two full time employees and two part-time members of staff.
The gym would be open between 6am and 9pm Monday to Friday and between 9am and 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
9Round is a 30-minute kickbox fitness workout and is believed to be available at more than 600 locations worldwide.
According to its website, β9Round offers a kickboxing themed fitness program that incorporates a functional, interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens.
It continues: βThe programs consist of a proprietary system of nine challenging workout stations developed by a World Champion Kickboxer.β
