POLICE were out in force near Ferndown on Sunday after a 'concern for welfare' call.
Up to seven police cars were parked up in Glissons, off Ham Lane, among them the force dog unit. The road is a short cul-de-sac near the Haskins roundabout.
A small number of officers were spotted at the gate of a property towards the end of the short row of houses.
Passers-by reported seeing up to eight police cars at one point, parked in and around the area.
Police were on the scene since at least 12 noon according to eye-witnesses.
After several calls to the Dorset Police control room, police issued a statement on Sunday evening saying it was "called by adult social services at 11.54am requesting assistance while they conduct a welfare assessment on a man aged in his 30s".
A spokesman said: "The man is presently inside the address and speaking with police and social services.
"No one else is believed to be inside the property and there are no reported injuries."
This morning, Monday, police said: "The situation was resolved at around 7pm and he was taken by the ambulance service and given appropriate care."
