THE area around Horseshoe Common is an accident waiting to happen.
What planet were the planners' minds on when re-vamping this area?
The installation of a block paved footpath which continues beyond the pavement across the main road; add in the fact the lighting is poor and you have traffic turning out of Old Christchurch Road, then it's simply a matter of time before a serious accident happens or at worst a fatality.
Last night I left the car park at Glenferness Road and drove around the corner.
Visibility was poor because of the heavy rain.
As I continued I had two pedestrians simply step out, thinking the footpath must have continued. Thankfully, my alertness and braking prevented an incident.
This is not the first time people simply ignore the road and think they are on a continuance of the footpath. The stones need removing and replacing with a zebra crossing or similar and need to be much better lighted.
Come on Bournemouth, do the right thing. Safety first!
