A SINGER who grew up in Poole is taking part in the brand-new television entertainment show ‘All Together Now’ this weekend.

Harriette Mullen, 24, who was raised in Dorset and was a pupil at Broadstone First and Middle schools, will be taking to the stage to perform in front of 100 judges, headed up by former Spice Girl Geri Horner.

Each act sings in the hope that as many of the judges start singing along with their performance. The more of the 100 who join in with each song, the higher the act scores.

Harriette first “fell in love with the stage” when she attended dance lessons at Feet First in Poole, before studying music at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music (BIMM).

“I remember I did a show at Summerbee School with feet first and that was exactly when I realised I wanted to be on the stage,” she said.

“I just loved being on the stage and that feeling has never left me since.”

After graduating from BIMM, Harriette moved to London where she now teaches children drama, singing and dance, whilst pursuing her own dream of a career in the performing arts.

“It is still my dream to have a full-time career in musical theatre, but it is all about luck and timing,” she added.

“Teaching offers me that stability, so when I’m not on a job it’s great to have another job that I really enjoy doing.

“I always wanted to be Mary Poppins so I love working with the kids.”

Harriette has already gained some showbiz experience, having worked as the lead vocalist in ‘Keep Dancing’, the theatre tour of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. She also made it through to the final four of ITV’s ‘Search for Cilla’.

She will be hoping to book herself a place in the final, with a chance of winning a £50,000 cash prize.

“It’s such a fantastic show, you never know what’s going to happen next.

“My journey in particular on the show was just so exciting, I was metaphorically on the edge of my seat the whole time. It’s going to be a very dramatic, nail-biting episode.”

The show is presented by comedian Rob Beckett and will be broadcast this evening from 7:15pm.
