GYMNASTS at the Bourne 2 Bounce club are jumping for joy after winning 53 regional medals and five national medals in just four months.

The not-for-profit Wimborne-based club started in October 2017, with classes at the QE Leisure Centre three times a week for trampolining and double mini-trampolining (DMT).

Now they have been awarded a Sport England small grant to purchase a new competitive DMT, landing area and run up mat.

Coach Jasper Dallard said: "As a World DMT competitor and Bourne 2 Bounce coach I believe the new DMT will be a huge benefit to all gymnasts within the club, as they will now be able to train on the same specification DMT as they will compete on."

He said that the added power of the new DMT would enable gymnasts to build more difficult skills and allow progression in the sport.

"We'll now be offering DMT at all three sessions we operate at QE Leisure Centre and are hoping to increase participation," he said.

Capitalising on its success, Bourne 2 Bounce is now expanding into Two Riversmeet Leisure Centre, Christchurch. "Initially, sessions will be for one hour classes, open to any children in reception school year onwards and we'll have 30 places available," said Jasper.
