A MOTORIST has criticised Yellow Buses after a collision involving one of their vehicles at the Tuckton roundabout.

Brogan McCormack, from Barrack Road, Christchurch, was driving her car when the collision occurred last Thursday morning.

She says the driver failed to stop after shunting her into the roundabout, and it was only after she drove after him a mile up the road that he pulled over.

The shocked mum-of-two told the Echo: "Finally he (the bus driver) stopped up the road. He saw the yellow paint on my car where he hit me, I was clearly distressed.

"Basically he took my name, gave me a piece of paper with a telephone number printed on it and drove off."

After being contacted later by bus officials, they declined to give Miss McCormack, aged 26, the name of the driver, which, she says, has resulted in her own insurance company refusing to provide a hire car.

A Yellow Buses spokesman said: "The safety and security of our customers, staff and other road users is central to everything we do. For this reason all of our buses are fitted with CCTV recording equipment.

"We have viewed, and retained, CCTV of this incident and are satisfied that our driver was not at fault.

"We have advised the other party to contact their insurance party if they wish to pursue this matter further."
