A MARKS & Spencer foodhall will create 50 jobs when it opens in Broadstone next month.

The shop will open its doors at 10am on Wednesday, February 7, some six months after the retailer submitted plans to the council.

The branch is based at the former Budgens store in Lower Blandford Road.

Store manager Roy Taylor, who was worked for M&S for more than 10 years, said: "After months of preparation, we can’t wait to open the store and get to know our local customers.

"There’s been lots of excitement in the area and we’re looking forward to delivering exceptional service to the community."

The foodhall, which is located next to a Tesco Express, will be open between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Mr Taylor will officially open the branch.

He said: "We can’t wait for our new customers to see all we have to offer."

Budgens closed in early July last year.
