MOTORISTS faced delays of up to an hour on the A338 Spur Road following a two-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred on the southbound carriageway near Blackwater.
It involves a white VW Scirocco and a brown BMW 330d.
It was reported to police at 8.33am.
The road remains partially blocked.
No one is believed to have been injured.
One motorist said: "It took me an hour to get from Christchurch Hospital even onto the Spur Road as the traffic was completely solid all the way, meaning I was around 40 minutes late for work.
“We heard on the radio that traffic approaching Blackwater junction from the Hurn/Matchams direction was also queueing for an hour.
“It was very frustrating to see, when we eventually drew level with the flashing lights, that it was just a single police car and a few cones causing the hold-up – the accident looked to have been all cleared away."
The local authority was made aware due to fuel on the road.
All lanes were reopened just after 12pm.
