A MAN driving with six children in his car failed a roadside drug test in Bournemouth last week.

Dorset Police No Excuse team said officers had been monitoring the man under Operation Dragoon following reports he had been driving under the influence of drugs.

The individual, who had previously vowed to stop the behaviour, was seen recently driving a car which wasn't registered in his named.

And on Wednesday, he was stopped in the town, where police say he admitted taking drugs in the past 24 hours and failed the roadside Drugwipe.

"The male was driving with six children in the vehicle, ranging from less than a year up to 18 years old", the No Excuse team said.

Blood tests will be sent off to be analysed with the man released until the results are returned.

Operation Dragoon is Dorset Police’s direct response to identifying and dealing with risk drivers; including those driving under the influence of drink or drugs or driving illegally or inappropriately and who pose a serious risk to themselves as well as putting innocent drivers’ lives at risk on our roads.
