A SUSPECTED thief is believed to have revisited an address to wave at the resident who reported him to police.
A metal-framed, wooden-sided trailer with low-pressure tyres was stolen from a property in Dudsbury Avenue on Saturday, January 6, officers serving with the Ferndown Central Neighbourhood Policing Team said.
The trailer had been used to store scrap metal, and it was believed the vehicle itself may have been dumped nearby.
The appeal for information was shared over the team's Facebook page.
On Wednesday, police said a man is suspected to have returned to the address during daylight hours.
"He has even waved at the homeowner while he walked around her garden," a spokesperson from the team said.
"Following security improvements, we have a CCTV image of this male, and neighbours have supplied vehicle details."
Anyone with information should contact the force via dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting 07:0196.
