A CHARITY which provides 'vulnerable' people with training for employment has launched a new series of community lunches in Bournemouth.

Crumbs’ mixed ability team have been delivering lunches at Winton Methodist Church and at its own training facility in Hibberd Court on a monthly basis.

Due to the support from the local community the charity will be launching a series of new regular community lunch dates, with a two-course hot lunch served by Crumbs’ trainees.

The team prepare a varied menu of traditional favourites from scratch, using seasonal produce. The lunches also provide trainees valuable customer service experience, and the chance to showcase their catering skills.

"We have been overwhelmed by the support from local residents to our community lunches, their regular attendance means we are able to bring additional lunch dates to the Holy Epiphany and St Marks Church in Bournemouth, as well as the All Saints Church in Southbourne,” said food service manager Erika Sloper.

"The lunches are very welcoming and provide a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, which is perfect for our diners and trainees who may lack in confidence but are able to gain real life catering work experience."
