FORMER Mayor of Ferndown and East Dorset councillor, Queenie Comfort, has died aged 88.
Mrs Comfort served as an East Dorset councillor from 1999 until 2009 and was chairman of the council in 2005/2006.
Nellie Dorothy Comfort was born in Bournemouth on November 3, 1929, as Nellie Dorothy Allen, affectionately known as ‘Queenie’ from childhood.
She died on December 13 at Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
Her funeral service will take place on January 16 at the Broughton Church of St. Mary, near Banbury at 11.50am.
The service will be followed by cremation at Banbury Crematorium at 1pm.
