MORE than100 members of Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and local students attended a presentation about the hospital during an event at Poole High School.

Hospital staff including Dr Steve Wadams, clinical director for children’s services, Mr Daniel Webster, clinical director for women’s services, and Jillian Ireland, midwife, delivered presentations describing the different aspects of clinical care within women’s and children’s services, as well as what the hospital has to offer its next generation of employees.

The presentations included the championing of a new maternity unit for east Dorset and how a hospital can be seen through a child’s point of view.

Following the presentations there was a panel discussion where Debbie Fleming, chief executive, and Patricia Reid, director of nursing, explained why they chose a career in the NHS and the many benefits and advantages of working at a hospital.

The meeting closed with an inspiring audience Q&A session led by Sophie Marriott, Usmaan Maqsood and James Mawdsley, three medical students currently at Poole Hospital.
