AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after two caravans, a container of furniture, a minibus and two boats were damaged in a fire.

The fire occurred at a site in Washpond Lane in Ulwell, Swanage, at 1.57am on Saturday, December 16.

The blaze started in a caravan before spreading to a second caravan, a container of furniture, a minibus and two boats.

No one was injured.

Fire crews from Swanage, Wareham and Poole attended supported by a water carrier from Poole.

Ten breathing apparatus users tackled the blaze using two main jets, two hose reel jets and compressed air foam.

Four propane cylinders were also located, cooled and moved to safety.

A stop message was put out at 4.58am with attendance reduced to one pump from Wimborne who carried on damping down.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: “We believe the fire started accidentally, although the exact cause remains under investigation.”
