CITIZENS Advice charities in Bournemouth and Poole have now merged together to form one organisation.

The new Citizens Advice Bournemouth & Poole (CABP) has been officially running since the start of December, following a celebration event at Canford Cliffs' Italian Villa.

A CABP spokesman explained: "This is an exciting time for the charity as it will open new funding opportunities that will allow us to run more outreaches as well as helping to support their new benefits specialist and their water debt specialist, otherwise known as Jane the 'Water Guru'."

Dignitaries attended the merger celebrations included Bournemouth Mayor Cllr Lawrence Williams.

Recent funding acquired through the national Building a Stronger Britain Together BSBT project - a programme delivered by the Home Office and M&C Saatchi - will see the charity support the government's counter extremism strategy with its own hate crimes project.

To speak with an advisor, call their AdviceLine on 03444 111 444, Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm.

Meanwhile, to see an advisor in person, visit CABP's office in the West Wing, Bournemouth Town Hall, Monday to Friday, 10am-3.30pm.
