LUKE Skywalker would be allowed in, but Darth Vader and his stormtroopers could be turned away as the new Star Wars film arrives on cinema screens on Thursday (Dec 14).

Odeon cinemas has encouraged fans to come in costume for the release of The Last Jedi – but warned them not to wear full-face helmets or masks.

Episode VIII in the saga will be the first to open at Odeon’s 10-screen cinema in Bournemouth’s BH2 leisure complex.

The cinema’s predecessor, the Odeon in Westover Road – formerly the Gaumont – was traditionally the home of Star Wars movies in the town.

In a tweet, Odeon said:“Planning on dressing up to watch #TheLastJedi at Odeon? “Quick reminder…

“Do: - Show off your best character costumes and tag us in your pics - Keep it decent - Be considerate to your fellow Star Wars fans - Have fun.

“Don't: -Wear full face helmets or masks.”

The cinema chain has also been asking people to guess what Luke Skywalker’s first words in the movie will be, after his silent appearance in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
