MOTORISTS are failing to stop for pedestrians using a zebra crossing in Wareham, police say.
Officers based with the neighbourhood policing team (NPT) in Purbeck say most reports are made as parents drop off and pick up their children from school.
Extra patrols will take place near the crossing in Worgret Road.
The Lady St Mary First School and the Purbeck School are both close to the crossing.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "This appears to be mainly during school pick up and drop off times between Monday and Friday.
"Members of the local NPT will be patrolling the area during these key times.
"We would like to remind you all that you must give way to a pedestrian on a crossing.
"Failure to do so may result in a £100 fine and three points on your licence."
