THE community came together for the 29th annual Save the Children Parade in Wimborne on Saturday.
The town saw a wide array of floats assemble at Cobhams in Brook Road just after lunch, before they embarked into the centre of the town via Leigh Road, Lewens Lane, Park Lane, East Street, King Street, West Street and the Square and High Street.
Father Christmas and the Snow Princess also made an appearance.
Floats included a set of elves manning motorised lawnmowers from the Wimborne Mowers Club, staff from Wimborne's Victoria Hospital in appropriate medical-themed attire, and a group of young boxers from Wimborne Amateur Boxing Club and Hip Fitness.
Wimborne in Bloom turned out in flowerpot helmets with a suitably floral float, and also taking part were Wimborne Brownies, the Cubs, Scouts and Beavers from 2nd Wimborne Scout Group, and members of Dreamboats Wimborne sailing club.
And to top it off, members of the Wimborne Militia with their muskets, a group of steam traction engines, tractors and fire engines, the town crier and the mayor all joined in the festive parade.
There were more than 50 marshals needed to keep the road junctions safe and man the crowds for the festive event.
