A weather warning remains in place for strong winds across Dorset on Sunday.

The Met Office warning is in place between 4am and 3pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson said: "A spell of strong winds is expected to move east across the far south of England and Wales on Sunday morning.

"Some short term loss of power and other services is possible, as well as some delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges.

"It is likely that some coastal routes, sea front and coastal communities affected by spray and/or large waves."

The Chief Forecaster said: "A spell of strong winds is expected to move east across the far south of the UK.

"Gusts of 50 mph are likely quite widely, with 60 mph gusts in places and up to 70 mph at times in the most exposed coastal locations."

There will also be heavy rain between 11am and 1pm, the forecast says.

Flood alerts have been issued for the county as well, with warnings for Lyme Regis Harbour and West Bay and alerts for Christchurch Harbour and parts of East Dorset.

Although much of the country is seeing snow or predicted to get snow over the next few days, Dorset looks set to escape the flurries.

Sleet is no longer forecast for Monday but temperatures over the next few days will feel freezing and around -3C on Monday.

Sunday will feel slightly warmer - around 4C - but with the wind, may feel colder.

This is probably the best Dorset can hope for...
