FOUR illegal migrants were discovered in two trailers at Poole port and one fled as he was being taken into custody.
A Home Office spokesperson confirmed the men were discovered at around 7.30pm on Tuesday December 5 in trailers that had arrived on a ferry from Bilbao.
Three Albanian men have been detained, pending removal from the UK. A fourth man absconded while being taken into custody but has not yet been located despite a search involving Border Force personnel, Dorset Police and the NPAS helicopter.
The spokesperson added: "Any breach of security is taken very seriously and we are investigating the circumstances of this incident."
