Police are searching for a man who has gone missing from a Bournemouth hotel.

Officers are appealing for help to find Michael Ableway who was last seen by his family on November 3.

The 81-year-old, who is from Chichester in Sussex, travelled to Bournemouth by train on Friday where he booked into the Royal Bath Hotel in Bath Road for two nights.

After that, police say he stayed in the Croham Hotel and then on Friday November 10, in the Durley Grange Hotel, both in Durley Road.

Michael typically dresses in suit trousers and a jacket and is described as white, five feet eight inches tall and of slim to medium build. He has short white hair and wears glasses.

PC Charley Dunstan said: “Michael was last seen by his family on November 3, but has not been in touch with them since. We are becoming concerned for Michael’s welfare as this behaviour is out of character.

“Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and hotel checks but have been unable to find Michael so far.

“There has been a possible sighting of him on Friday 10 November 2017 near to the Libertine Pub in Westbourne.

“Anyone who has seen Michael during the last two weeks or knows where Michael may have gone should contact police urgently.

“If Michael himself sees this message, please get in touch with us or your family as we all want to make sure you are safe and well.”

Call police on 101 if you have any information.
