A lorry driver was taken to hospital with injuries to his arm after his 18-tonne lorry came off the road near Three Legged Cross in the early hours.
Ringwood Road was closed both ways between Lower Common Lane and the B3072 Verwood Road after the incident, which happened close to the roadworks.
Dorset Police told the Daily Echo that they received calls at 4.52am today reporting the vehicle had come off the road and had become stuck in a roadside ditch.
Traffic information suggested the lorry tried to drive around the roadworks and became stuck in mud.
Police say the ditch was damaged and council highways engineers were called to the scene.
The road was eventually re-opened around 8.10am.
