BOURNEMOUTH will host its first ever signed pantomime performance and also a specially adapted performance for children with disabilities this year.
After 2016’s record-breaking pantomime, BH Live and UK Productions will present Jack and the Beanstalk at the Pavilion Theatre. The 2.30pm matinee performance on Saturday, December 9 will be a British Sign Language Interpreted performance by Wendy Ebsworth MBE.
Customers are advised to speak with staff when booking tickets to ensure that they are seated in the correct location.
There will also be a specially adapted performance on Wednesday, December 13 at 10am to enable people with a wide range of disabilities including autism and dementia, as well as very young children, to enjoy the full experience of live theatre.
Minor changes include lowered sound and lighting levels, doors will be left open so patrons are free to move around or take time out in a quiet area outside of the auditorium.
Customers can also request a copy of the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre visual story designed to help customers familiarise themselves with their surroundings.
There will also be earlier evening performances at 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 5, Wednesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 13.
Jack and the Beanstalk runs from December 2, through to January 1 starring Rachel Stevens (S Club 7) as Fairy Sweet Pea; Mark Moraghan (Holby City, Coronation Street and Emmerdale) as Fleshcreep; Derek Moran (Channel 5’s Milkshake) as Jack. Noel Brodie as Simple Simon and Jamie Steen as Dame Trott.
