A COACH driver is warning trick or treaters after a young passenger found a needle inside a Mars Bar he collected on Halloween.

Tony ‘Pony’ Steel, from Christchurch, posted on Facebook following the incident this morning, which is thought to have involved someone maliciously tampering with the chocolate bar.

The Mars Bar had been collected in the Castlepoint area on Tuesday.

In his post, Mr Steel, who is also a presenter on Hot Radio, said: “A young lad just got onto my coach and opened a mini Mars Bar that he got last night while out having fun trick or treating.

“Luckily he broke the Mars in half instead of biting it but, as he did, he found a needle inside the chocolate bar.

“He was about to throw it outside and I stopped him so I could firstly prevent anyone from touching the needle but, two, so I could check it over.”

Bournemouth Echo:

Mr Steel said the needle had been pushed through the wrapper into the bar “and given to a child while out celebrating Halloween with complete intent to harm”.

He is warning others to check their treats before biting into them.
