CLEAN Bandit bought their wonderful mix of pop, classic and soulful vocals to Bournemouth and turned what would have been a dark damp Tuesday into a warm wonderful evening of dance grooves.

Grace, Jack and Luke were joined on stage by two outstanding singers Yasmin Green and Kristin Childs and a brilliant violinist who’s name I didn’t catch (sorry) and together they put on a show that take some beating in what remains of the year.

A great stage set, smoke, pyro and confetti cannons all added to the gig but there is no distracting from the strength of the tunes that have seen this band top the charts all over the world.

Starting with Stronger, Sure Do and Cologne the pace and the beat never let up throughout the evening. Their three biggest hits Rockabye, Rather Be and Symphony recorded with Jess Glynne, Anne-Marie and Zara Larson all put in a live appearance and thanks to Yasmin and Kristin were just as good if not better than the single versions. The mix of classically trained musicians and pop makes these guys just that little bit different from the majority of the music around today and it was a refreshing change to see them live doing what they do best.

A relatively short main set of just over the hour closed with Should’ve Known Better and Real Love but it was never going to end there and sure enough they were soon back for an encore starting with new single I Miss You and ending with the triumphant Rather Be. Looking at the people around me as the CO2 blasted out and the cannons shot glitter into the air I am sure that there was indeed no place they would rather be.
