BOURNEMOUTH English Book Centre (BEBC) will be continuing their support for the Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards for the second year as it evolves into the glitzy BAPTAs in association with Berendsen.
BEBC hosted their very own 2018 category launch in style at Camden in Westbourne, and were joined by the current 2017 winners MLS International College, past entrants, fellow sponsors, and professionals from the educational sector.
Jackie Phillipson from the BAPTAs said: "Education plays a key role in tourism. Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding areas attract thousands of overseas and British students year on year to the numerous universities, colleges, specialist language schools and other educational establishments in the area.
"Now other areas of the tourism sector are offering specialist training and educational programmes to help retain and to train staff making this category more exciting than ever and thus highlighting the vital part education plays in our tourism industry and for this destination.
"So please bear in mind we are looking for individuals, tourism businesses, and hospitality schools that offer an in-house training programme, apprenticeship scheme, or those who have demonstrated excellence working, studying or supplying the education sector, and are deserving of receiving recognition for their contribution to tourism.
"BEBC entered and won the education award themselves in 2016 and they became the category sponsor in 2017, they have seen first-hand the importance of these awards as well as what can do for the business profile."
John Walsh, managing director of BEBC, said: "We love being a part of the awards, and are even more excited now they have expanded into Bournemouth, Poole and the surrounding BH post code areas with the destination coming together to celebrate the tourism industry. The awards are great for building business to business opportunities and partnerships with fellow professionals in the area.
