TWENTY new jobs will be created at the new Odeon cinema in Bournemouth’s BH2 complex - thanks to their continuing success.

The flagship cinema has been so popular since it opened, that it is recruiting another 20 members of staff to the team.

And with more than 600,000 people flocking to the state-of-the-art screen since it opened in February, the venue will also be offering autism friendly screenings.

When the cinema launched, the Odeon recruited more than 50 members of staff.

They have also been listed as one of the Sunday Times ‘30 Best Big Companies to Work for’.

Positions include cinema host and barista roles at the 10-screen cinema.

Richard Rowe, general manager, added: “We are looking to recruit 20 new people to support the great work that our current team members do as they welcome each customer to ODEON Bournemouth BH2.

“For us, it is all about being able to provide the best possible experience to every film fan before and after our screenings and we are hoping to find people from across to Dorset to support that aim.”

Special features at ODEON Bournemouth BH2, include an ISENSE screen, reclining seats and a kids’ screen with a soft play area to enhance the cinema experience for families.

And the newly designed cinema was built so that all 10 screens are wheelchair accessible.

A lowered ticket machine and counter have also been installed, while there are improved audio description facilities and induction loops available in all screens following customer feedback.

Richard added: “We have also increased the number of subtitled film screenings available, including a kids’ option every Saturday and Sunday morning at 10.15am, which costs £2.50 per person. Being such an accessible cinema is a real asset to us.”

More than 23,000 people saw films at the cinema on the opening weekend back in February

A total of 888 hours and 32 minutes of film including The Lego Batman Movie, Fifty Shades Darker, Sing and T2: Trainspotting was seen.

The most popular films seen at the cinema are Dunkirk, Beauty & the Beast, Despicable Me 3, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and It.
