MOTORISTS have been warned of delays in Parkstone Road as three weeks of engineering work gets underway.
Workers for SGN will replace old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes during the programme, which is due to start tomorrow, Wednesday, October 25.
The works have been brought forward to support "urgent third-party work programmed in the area," a spokesperson from SGN said.
"To ensure everyone’s safety, we will need to temporarily close the outside lane of Parkstone Road southbound near the approach to the George roundabout for the duration of the project," he said.
"This will be in place between numbers 2 and 8 Parkstone Road approximately.
"Dependent on the location of gas connections, we may also need to close one lane of the northbound carriageway of High Street North, approximately between the George Hotel and Keel House.
"We would like to reassure you that we will maintain single lane traffic flow around our work on both sides of Parkstone Road and High Street North.
"Our engineers who will be carrying out these works have advised there will be no interruption to gas supplies at any point."
