A SECTION of Wimborne Road in Bournemouth will be closed from Saturday, October 21, while Wessex Water carries out emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer.

Wimborne Road will be closed to all through traffic from the junction of Roundhaye Road to the junction of Longfield Drive for a maximum of three weeks.

A spokesman for the firm said: “We will be working extended hours and at weekends in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.

“Alternative routes will be clearly signposted and access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.

“We appreciate this is a busy road and apologise for any disruption caused by these essential sewer repairs.”

Wessex Water has been carrying out long-running repairs to a major sewer in Percy Road, Boscombe, for more than a year. The road is closed for monitoring but is expected to re-open later this year.
