A TEENAGER was found dead in a Bournemouth flat after relapsing in his bid to kick hard drugs, an inquest heard.

Christopher Wyatt had cocaine, heroin and other drugs in his system when he died on the bathroom floor of a flat in Wootton Gardens, assistant Dorset coroner Brendan Allen was told.

Mr Wyatt, 19, was living with his grandparents in Ashley Park, Ashley Heath, Ringwood, at the time of his death on October 21 last year.

The Bournemouth inquest was told he had spent five weeks in a rehabilitation unit in Derby just weeks before he died.

His mum, Nikki Wyatt, said he appeared to be well when he returned and she was confident he had not been taking drugs.

The inquest heard he travelled to Bournemouth on October 20 and met up with an acquaintance. He was found dead in the early hours of the following morning.

A police investigation was carried out but concluded there was no third party involvement in his death.

Mrs Wyatt told the inquest her son's association with drugs started when he was 16-years-old and that he had spent time homeless on the streets of Southampton.

Home Office pathologist Dr Basil Purdue said the cause of Mr Wyatt's death was aspiration of gastric content due to mixed drug intoxication.

Mr Allen concluded the death was drug-related.
