THE body of a woman found in the sea off Mudeford Sandbank has been identified as that of a 73-year-old woman from Ferndown.
Dorset Police said the woman's family has been informed of the death but they have not released her name.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.
Police were called to the sandbank just after 9am on Monday.
The woman's body was pulled from the sea and wrapped in a tarpaulin before being recovered from the scene.
Several police officers and vehicles were seen near to the Black House holiday flats on the sandbank.
