POLICE investigating a double stabbing in Poole have arrested a man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

An investigation was launched following an incident at Sterte Close at around 2.20am on Monday, October 9.

The emergency services were called and two men were found with stab wounds to their backs.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed abode sustained injuries that were initially believed to be life threatening.

The second victim, a 45-year-old man from Poole, sustained serious injuries.

Both men have now left hospital.

A 43-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and are appealing for anyone with information who has not already spoken to police to come forward.
