THE Dorset Premier League’s representative side crashed out at the first stage of the FA Inter-League Cup.

Having held the lead twice against their counterparts from the Kent County League, a decisive strike from Kenneth Llo gave the visitors a 3-2 triumph at Day’s Park.

Kent started the opening exchanges brightly and fashioned the first chance of the contest on 11 minutes, Jamie Knight heading over when well placed.

The dangerous Ali Amisu then saw his tame shot held by Sam Watts in the Dorset goal.

Stopper Watts then was had to be at his best to save an effort from Reece Gilles at full stretch and keep the game goal-less.

But having absorbed early pressure, the Dorset side seized the initiative midway through the first half.

Westland Sports’s Josh Payne netted following Dave Wrixton’s right-wing cross to open the scoring.

Kent did not take long to respond however and they got their equaliser through Llo after he held off a challenge from Ricki Walden to poke the ball home.

Further efforts from Amisu and Llo saw the visitors almost gain the advantage before Dorset struck their second of the afternoon.

Payne again converted a cross from the right wing to notch his second, the delivery this time coming from Nathan Saxby.

Following the interval, Lee Gale failed to hit the target for the hosts when he beat the offside trap.

That came before goalkeeper Watts again defied Amisu when saving full stretch to parry away his fierce goal-bound drive.

But with 15 minutes to go, Kent made it 2-2 when Amisu headed home at the back post.

And with the visitors pushing forward, Llo got the winner to see his side progress to the next round.

He held off his marker and fired past a sprawling Watts to send Dorset out of the competition.

Kent’s win means they set up a second-round clash with the Jersey Football Combination.
