Thousands of homes and businesses across Bournemouth were left without power on Monday morning.
SSE said 21,000 customers were affected by the fault on the local network which was reported at 9.50am.
Readers reported outages across the town centre including Lansdowne Road, Hinton Road and Avenue Road as well as Charminster, Springbourne and Boscombe.
Bournemouth town hall, Bournemouth railway station, and the Daily Echo office on Richmond Hill were affected as well as Bournemouth University in the Lansdowne area.
Other premises without power include Turtle Bay restaurant, Marks and Spencer and JD Sports in the town centre.
SSE said they were aiming to restore supplies by midday but power was restored by 10.10am.
A spokesman for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said: “We would like to apologise to our customers in Bournemouth town centre who were affected by the short power cut this morning, and assure them that our engineers did everything they could to restore supplies as safely and as quickly as possible.”
